Shortcakes with Peaches, Cream and Almonds

Ingredients

MASSA
Delícia Supreme 100 g
Wheat flour 240 g
Sugar 20 g
Salt 1,5 g
Baking powder 30 g
Large egg 1 pc
Milk 125 ml
Vanilla essence 5 ml
Wheat flour for flouring
Yolk for brushing 1 pc

COMPANIMENTS
Well chilled fresh cream 1 liter
Honey 90 g
Peaches in syrup 450 g

Preparation Method

MASSA
1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder, sifted together.
2. Add the Delícia Supreme margarine and mix well with your fingertips.
3. In another bowl, lightly beat the whole egg.
4. Add the milk and vanilla to the bowl and mix with the dry ingredients.
5. Mix well until you have a moist dough.
6. Place the dough on a smooth, well-floured surface and knead just enough to obtain a smooth, homogeneous dough.
7. Roll out the dough to 0.5 cm thick and, using a lightly floured cookie cutter, cut out several circles.
8. Place them on a baking sheet, mix the egg yolk well, brush the surfaces of the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 9 minutes. Remove and allow to cool.

FILLINGS
10. Using a mixer, whip the heavy cream until stiff.
11. Sweeten with honey and set aside.
12. Serve with pieces of peaches in syrup, whipped cream and slivers of almonds.
13. These English rolls are an excellent choice for breakfast or snacks, preferably accompanied by Delícia Supreme margarine, jams and cheeses, among others.
